Role of Total Alkaloids of Mucuna pruriens Baker
in Spermatogenesis in Albino Rats

Abstract
The total alkaloids from the seeds of Mucuna pruriens Baker comprising five alkaloidal bases were found to bring about a noteworthy increase in the
population of spermatozoa and in the weight of body, testes, seminal vesicles and prostate of the treated albino rats. This exhibited activity was found to simulate testosterone - enanthate induced androgenic
activity in an other set of treated individuals.
